There are times in life when it is necessary to change direction. That's why the Ceterus foot is ideal for all sorts of activities, providing steady, elastic rotation at the ankle level, while reducing stress on the rest of the body.

Imagine the movement of an ankle when playing golf for example, the way it gently rotates to accommodate the changing position of the body. Ceterus has been designed to do just that. It mimics the body's normal twisting motion with a steady, gradual resistance that never creates abrupt stops. Providing a flexibility of movement that feels very natural, the foot’s design also reduces stress on all parts of the body through a built-in shock absorber.

Both of these features are incorporated in the classic Flex-Foot design, renowned for its energy return. Why is that important? Because the less energy people expend, the further they can walk. And there is plenty of evidence to prove Flex-Foot's energy-efficiency credentials.

For many people, the real advantage of Ceterus' versatility is that different activities can be enjoyed throughout the day, without the need to ever change feet.

Who it is for:

  • People with moderate to highly active lifestyles.
  • Those who are looking for good energy return plus smooth turning motion.
  • People who weigh up to 325lb / 166kg.

The technical stuff

As the user pivots on Ceterus, the Torsion Control Cell (as the blue ball is properly known) is gradually twisted and compressed, this ensures a progressive change in resistance without any abrupt stops, while reducing shear forces on the residual limb. Incorporated in the TCC is a vertical shock pylon. This absorbs the impact generated as the foot is walked on, reducing the stress that is put on every part of the body.

Available in sizes 22-30, Ceterus is easy to cover cosmetically. The foot is also available in a low profile version for those with longer residual limbs.
